Adoration Chapel will be closed beginning Tues. , April 14th During this Stay at Home Order, we will strip and seal the floors in the Cathedral. This will mean that beginning next Tuesday, April 14th no one will be able to enter the vestibule to get into the Adoration Chapel. The monstrance will be removed from the chapel and the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed in the tabernacle. Adoration can still take place in the main body of the Cathedral before the closed tabernacle even though there will be no exposition. Furthermore, so that this inconvenience is as quick and seamless as possible, we will also reseal the floor inside the Cathedral where adorers usually enter with the use of their key fobs. This door will be locked physically, not electronically. Under the current curfew in Terrebonne Parish, residents are not to leave their homes from 10 pm to 5 am. So the side door of the Cathedral near the convent will be opened at 5 am until 7 pm. Alternate sites: St. Bernadette Adoration Chapel @ St. Bernadette Church in Houma is open 24/7.
